A Wellspring of Worksheets

Kindergarten Counting Worksheets for the Four Seasons

I've been very busy creating a huge series of kindergarten counting worksheets! Ranging from a set for each month to a set for the major holidays, as well as these seasonal sets, there's everything under the sun. Counting is THE foundational math skill you teach and reinforce all year long, so I thought I'd cover it thoroughly, every way I thought I could, with the aim of providing fun and engaging resources for you and your students.

You love to creatively incorporate the seasons, holidays, weather, and more into your lessons to make them relatable and enjoyable for your students. And, gosh darn, you want to have fun! And you want your students to have fun while you're teaching and they're learning. Who wants to go home without having had a little levity in their day? Well, I've got you covered!

So here they are. Four sets of kindergarten counting worksheets, one 50 page set for each season and one big bundle of all four together.

I know you're busy and need valuable resources for your kids that are easy to prepare and easy to incorporate into your lesson themes. These sets are print, copy, and go so there's nothing to trace or cut out and no parent volunteers or preparation needed beforehand. Of course, I would recommend that you always plan ahead, but even for the times when you're in a crunch or you have a few minutes to fill in, you can grab one of these worksheets as a time filler.

These seasonal worksheets work great used in small packets or as a whole in a workbook format, too.

If you'd want to use a small packet you could, for example, pull all the comparing numbers worksheets out of one of the sets and staple them together for that topic. Or if you'd like to staple a few graphing worksheets together for a math center for the week you could do that.

I like the idea of printing the whole sets and using them in a bound kindergarten counting worksheets workbook. I've bound mine together using my Fellowes comb binding machine and a 1/2" plastic binding comb. If you use math centers, a booklet is a great resource to use for one of your centers. Simply use a Post-It sticky note to mark the pages.

Talking about the seasons, I've divided my monthly kindergarten counting worksheets sets into four seasons, three months per season, and teamed them up with the seasonal sets to create more filled-out seasonal bundles.

What's in the Kindergarten Counting Worksheets Four Seasons Sets?

What will you find in each of these seasonal sets? Lots and lots of differentiated counting practice! Plus other pages that provide variety and address other skills like number tracing and color by number.

Here's something to take note of: In the top left corner of each worksheet you will find a simple notation like "Count to 5" or "Write Numbers to 10" so you can quickly scan the pages to see which skills are targeted for that worksheet. That comes in handy, allowing you to quickly find a worksheet for the skill you might want to cover.

These seasonal sets follow a traditional school year starting with the summer set. The skills addressed in this set are more beginning skills like counting to 5. Next would come the fall set, then the winter set and ending with the spring set covering more advanced skills like counting to 15 and counting to 20. Here's a list of the skills addressed in all these sets as a whole:

  • counting to 5
  • counting to 10
  • counting to 15
  • counting to 20
  • counting to 100 by tens
  • counting to 100 by ones
